Very comfortable for all day use. This tool takes a beating and comes back for more. I have been using two of these drills for a few years now and they are awesome. I don't know what these people are looking for out of a 12 volt cordless drill but they must be smoking something if they're not happy with this. Great power for a 12 volter.
I have beaten this thing up mercilessly, including exposing it to salt water - never a total dunk, but lots of spray and splashes. I have also dropped it on concrete, in the sand, used it as a mallet, and done all kinds of other bad things to it.
My outer bearings are getting a bit loose now, but given the amount of sand, mud, and plaster dust this thing has eaten in two years, I consider that OK. They provide plenty of power - just not long enough.
My only complaints are (1)the low capacity batteries that come with the drill. ones do a lot more work between charging.(2)The belt hook is a joke, but I never use it anyway.(3)The carrying case for this thing is a monster - big enough for three drills.Good torque and the one-hand tightening chuck is very convenient.
I bought this over two years ago & wanted to wait to review it. No problem.
The replacement 2.4a.h.
An ideal tool for someone needing a cordless drill-driver but who isn't a house-building carpenter/contractor. Plenty of power, well-balanced and not too heavy.
problems with chuck bearings. maybe a 12V drill should be called a screw gun not a drill Dont send a boy to do a mans job.Dissapointed in Milwakee's product for the first time. can not screw or drill much load.
This drill is not only light but compact, nearly the size of my older Panasonic. The plastic housing is the best I have seen among cordless drills. Maybe I just don't have the ego for a hefty 18 or 24 volter. Luckily, there is a two speed feature to tame this beast. Then again, it may just be me and not the tool. For me, a good 12 volt drill is perfect for most woodworking projects, the weight and extra bulk of anything greater is just not worth the fatique. Although, I love the rubberized feel, my finger got pinched quite a few times when I pulled the trigger.
The fleshy part of my trigger finger got caught between the tacky rubber switch and the housing.Ouch. This drill also included a cool Clip-Lok system eliminating the need for a holster or one of those awkward lug hooks. The power is more than adequate for most jobs. No where on the islands was this beauty available. All in all, this is another excellent product from Milwaukee. I was able to drill quite a few holes with my hole-saw during door installations. Milwaukee has done a great job incorporating "Heavy Duty" toughness without the weight of an 18 volt bruiser. Looks like it's built to last.
The drill does pack a pretty hefty kick with all the torque generated at 1400rpm. To me, the whole point of using cordless tools is to get away from the excess weight. And a big mahalo to Larry at the Amazon/Tool-Crib for assisting with my purchase. If you need a good all around cordless, this drill is highly recommended. The rubberized trigger and soft grip handle just adds to the balanced comfort. The only complaint I have on this drill is the trigger.
